When this couple reached out to BGH Construction, they were not simply looking for a builder. They were looking for a partner to help them create something deeply personal, their forever home. A place to retire, to gather the people they love most, and to wake up every morning to the sound of the ocean at The Entrance North.

The vision was clear. The path to get there was anything but simple.

BGH Construction spent eight months in preconstruction working hand in hand with the clients and the structural engineer, not just planning the build, but going through every single detail together to make sure the finished home would be exactly what they had always imagined. Every material selection, every structural decision, every methodology was discussed, refined and agreed upon before a single tool hit the ground. On a beachfront site with the structural complexity this project demanded, that level of preparation was not optional. It was everything. It was also what gave the clients complete confidence that what BGH Construction delivered at the end would match what they had envisioned from the very beginning.

The scope of works was extraordinary. Half of the existing home and slab was demolished while the remaining structure, and the critical north retaining wall, had to be protected and underpinned throughout the process. Screw piers were driven seven metres into the ground to secure the new foundation. The new slab was set 450mm lower than the original to allow vehicles to enter the garage without restriction, a detail that mattered to the clients and so it mattered to us.

From there, the entire home was gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. A new roof system was installed using Colorbond Permalight sheeting, sourced specifically for its superior performance in coastal environments. Every external fixing was specified in 316 stainless steel. All structural steel was galvanised and epoxy painted to ensure the build would stand strong against the salt air for generations to come.

The exterior was brought to life with brick, render, Coen cladding, and Cresta Beige natural stone cladding to the front facade and rear pillars, a material choice that catches the afternoon sun and gives the home a warmth and elegance that feels completely at home on the waterfront.

Inside, every room was fitted out to the highest standard, a home that is as beautiful to live in as it is to look at.

Today, the clients have exactly what they came to BGH Construction for. A forever home. A place filled with laughter, good food, and the kind of memories that stay with you for a lifetime, all with the ocean as their backdrop.
